The Sony Ericsson W205 is a slider phone and is very compact at just 92 x 47 x 16mm and a weight of 96g. The screen display is 1.8 inches and can display up to 65K which makes your images sharp and clear. The Sony Ericsson W205 is another addition to the Walkman family of handsets, from Sony Ericsson. It is an excellent MP3 playing music phone.
Being a slider phone means there is no touch screen facility. The buttons are setup like a normal phone keypad, but the buttons are very small (this is due to it being a small handset) and also seem pretty close together.
The phone features a built in Walkman player which supports file formats such as MP3 and AAC, TrackID music recognition, FM radio and also expandable memory so you can store all of your favourite tracks. The only downside is that the phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack which means you need to use headphones with the Sony Ericsson connection. The sound quality is excellent. The 1.3 megapixel camera is a good quality but not ideal. There is no option to connect the phone to a PC to transfer photos and edit them on your PC. There is however, a video capture function, where you can record short videos.
Mobile internet with WAP gives you access to the internet with GPRS connection. The W205 supports Bluetooth 2.0, which gives faster data transmissions between handsets. The handset itself is deal for listening to your favourite music while on the bus or train, or even sharing files with friends and family but the camera is not perfect and it does lack the 3G connection. But all said, it is a very good phone for the price it is being marketed at.

The W395 is another great release from Sony Ericsson in their Walkman range, the handset has a less bulky appearance and really comfortable feel in your hand. The main thing with a Sony Ericsson is the music and with its Walkman 2.0 music player and an equaliser with deep bass function (this allows you to play your songs through the built in stereo speakers with excellent sound quality). The Sony Ericsson W395 is available in Pink, Silver and Black. This is a slider handset and is finished really well, I feel it lives up to the Walkman name very well and is another great product from Sony Ericsson. The handset is available from T Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and O2 either as pay as you go or monthly contract. As this handset is so nicely priced I personally would opt for the pay as you go option which saves you being tied to a lengthy contract. The phone itself would suit everyone - from the people who love music to the ones who just like to keep up with the latest trend. More suited to personal users than business users but still a great phone to have in your pocket.

The Walk-Mate application is an easy-to-use step counter, which will track the entire steps you walked throughout the day. This is all topped off with 3G HSDPA technology for high-speed web browsing and even built-in games. It is a bit on the chunky and has a rather small 2.2 inch screen. When you switch on the W595 you’ll be delighted by a bright and vibrant QVGA display with brilliant layout and icons that are easily readable. The 950mAh battery is great news and an impressive 9 hours of talk time and 385 hours on standby.

All in all this is a very stylish and unusual handset, from the Ed Hardy Tattooed design to the excellent Walkman facilities. This phone is sure to turn a few heads, you will either love it or hate it. The Sony Ericsson W595 Ed Hardy Edition is available from Orange, Virgin, O2, Vodafone, 3 and T Mobile. Pay as you go, sim free or monthly contract, there really is a lot of choices for your ideal package when considering the handset. The Sony Ericsson W995 is another handset from the Walkman range. The phone features an 8.1 megapixel camera, an improved media syncing system, HSDPA 3G, Wi-Fi and A-GPS all packed into a chunky yet slim slider phone. It measures in at 97×49x15mm and 113g. The W995’s LCD screen is good with 240×320-pixel and 262,000 colours. The only downside is that it’s only 2.6in – which doesn’t reflect well with the media player. The 8.1 megapixel camera has the standard LED, an image stabiliser and auto focus, as well as smile detection and the excellent BestPic, which takes seven pictures in one quick blast, both before and after you press the shutter. There’s also a 16x digital zoom, macro setting and panorama.
Music is obviously the key thing for the W995 with excellent sound quality augmented by Clear Stereo and Clear Bass features, as well as a five-band graphic equaliser and FM radio with RDS. The W995 comes with its own set of external stereo speakers. The Sony Ericsson W995 plays MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC and WMA audio formats and MPEG-4 and WMV formats for video. Playback quality was good, but not all formats can be shown full screen.
The Access Netfront browser gives great web browsing. The handsets accelerometer will change the screen to landscape mode when your turn it on its side and you can zoom in or out in ten% increments. Sony Ericsson’s NearMe application is simple to use and there is also a preloaded trial version of the Wayfinder Navigator sat nav.
The 118MB of memory isn‘t great, but it does comes with an 8GB Memory Stick Micro card. Battery life gives up to 9 hours talk time and 370 hours standby.
The handset is all about music and this is one thing is does well, the sound quality is great and browsing through your favourite tracks and albums is a breeze.
