Phones4u Mobile Phone Shop Review

Phones4u are probably one of the most easily recognised mobile phone retail brands in the UK. Since their launch in 1996 they have expanded across the UK in a network of over 450 stores making them the U.K.’s fastest growing independent mobile phone retailer. Phones4u Ltd is part of the MobileServ group of companies owned by Providence Equity. Phones4u was voted the best online retailer at the Mobile News awards 2009.

The website is immediately recognisable as it follows the same colour scheme as the Phones4u logo and retail outlets. With a clear and simple interface with websites is less fussy than many competitors and easier to use. Split into seven mean areas, mobile phones, broadband, free gifts, deals, accessories, games and a help & services section.

The mobile phone section allows you to search for pay monthly phones, or to choose by manufacturer or telecommunications network. Once you choose a mobile handset you are presented with several different images of the phone (including a 3D view), a customer rating score, the phones main features, and a range of customer reviews powered by Reevoo.

The broadband section gives a range of mobile broadband options from Vodafone, O2, 3 and Orange. With O2 and Three offering both pay monthly and pay as you go broadband tariffs.

The free gifts on offer at Phones4u are broadly the same as its competitors. Featuring Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation three, laptops and cashback.

The deals section on the Phones4u website is split into the monthly deals and deals on pay-as-you-go mobile phone handsets. This section features all the latest deals and includes offers such as end of line model handset offers etc.

The accessories section covers and Bluetooth accessories, car kits, mobile phone cases, handset chargers, phone memory and music & audio.

The games section offers game consoles and software bundles on popular systems such as Xbox 360, DS Lite and Sony PlayStation 2. With free delivery on all games and bundles.

The help and services section of the Phones4u website is comprehensive, Phones4u seem to understand that many people can be bewildered by the complex choices that can confront them when purchasing a mobile phone. Phones4u seem to have continued to make significant investment into staff training and development, to ensure staff continue to offer up-to-date and impartial advice. With over 11 years experience in mobile phone sales Phones4u seem to have an in-depth understanding of the products and services. This has resulted in Phones4u coming top in the JD Power survey for customer satisfaction in the independent mobile sector for two years running, and came top of the 2005 UK mobile telephone retail customer satisfaction study which was based on personal interviews with over 2000 customers at mobile phone stores across the UK.
