The cool and sophisticated BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Smart phone features a high quality large screen with full QWERTY keyboard in a stylish but functional layout. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone is the latest member of the popular Blackberry Pearl Series, a range of business and communication orientated mobile devices which include the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and the BlackBerry Pearl 8110. The 8120 handset has a large 65,000 colour screen with a screen
resolution of 240 by 260 pixels. Just below this screen is the QWERTY keyboard featuring SureType keyboard software. Despite the huge range of features and technology packed into the BlackBerry Pearl 8120, this is a compact device measuring just 14mm x50mm x 107mm and weighing only 91 grams. The standard battery is capable of around 400 hours on standby and up to 4 hours of call time from a single full charge.

An advantage the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 has over many mobiles on the market is the built-in Wi-Fi technology. This allows the user to enjoy a wireless connection on their phone which is independent of the network provider’s services. This means free connection to the internet in many train stations,
airports, restaurants and city centres using the Blackberry RIM wireless modem. Bluetooth technology is also available as is a USB port for connection to other compatible devices for transfering files or data. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 phone has a useful 64Mb of built in memory which can be extended using a memory card ( MicroSD memory card ). A document viewer (PowerPoint, Word & Excel) is also included. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 supports BlackBerry Maps. Calls can be heard using the built in loudspeakers which is convenient for meetings and the Pearl 8120 can be set to vibration alerts for discreet usage.

Full email service capabilities on the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 include instant messaging, SMS messaging and MMS. The QWERTY keyboard is great for inputting text for messaging. A built in multi-media player allows users to play music and video on their Pearl 8120. The built in 2 megapixel camera records still pictures or video footage and has a useful “self portrait” function which uses a discrete mirror to allow users to take pictures of themselves!
